For those following the development of the California climate disclosure laws (SB 253 and 261), don’t forget to register for CARB’s next virtual public workshop, to be held Monday, March 23, 2026, from 1–4 pm Pacific Time.
According to the public notice, the workshop will cover the following:
- Additional information for the August 10, 2026, Scope 1 and 2 emissions reporting deadline
- The next stage in regulatory development and an overview of the development of the greenhouse gas reporting requirements for 2027-2030
- Preliminary staff options for Scope 3 emissions reporting requirements for 2027-2030, a solicitation of alternative approaches, and an overview of staff’s approach to the economic analysis
The CARB staff will take verbal feedback during the workshop and materials will be posted on the California Corporate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting and Climate Related Financial Risk Disclosure Programs webpage by March 20, 2026.
